Quel che più fa che lor si inchina e cede
ogn'altra gemma, è che, mirando in esse,
l'uom sin in mezzo all'anima si vede;
vede suoi vizi e sue virtudi espresse,
sì che a lusinghe poi di sé non crede,
né a chi dar biasmo a torto gli volesse:
fassi, mirando allo specchio lucente
