Pigliar di tanta ingiuria alta vendetta,
tra il sì Zerbino e il no resta confuso:
il vedere il demerito lo alletta
a far che sia il fellon di vita escluso;
il ricordarsi l'amicizia stretta
ch'era stata tra lor per sì lungo uso,
con l'acqua di pietà l'accesa rabbia
